Each year, we bring together designers, creatives, students, and design-adjacent professionals to connect, learn, and experience how design shapes our city and the people who live here. Founded in Indianapolis and built by the community, Indy Design Week (IDW) exists to connect, amplify, and support the Indy design community.

Indy Design Week is a multi-day, multi-venue experience featuring talks, workshops, panels, studio tours, exhibitions, and community gatherings across Indianapolis. Programming is intentionally broad and accessible. So whether you’re a seasoned creative, a student just starting out, or someone working alongside design in marketing, tech, or business...you belong here.
This is more than a conference. This is a community built around real work, real conversations, and the people shaping Indy design.

They think they know us.
Cornfields. Crossroads. Flyover.
A place people pass through.
Not a place where things happen.
They underestimate us,
and that’s fine.
Because while the rest of the world
has been looking past Indianapolis,
we’ve been building, creating, collaborating.
For people, not prestige.
Making work rooted in community.
Shaped by real needs.
Field Guide is our collective record.
A snapshot of a community in motion.
A documentation of a vibrant scene.
It lives in studios and garages.
In offices, kitchens, classrooms, and alleys.
It’s where logos start as sketches.
Websites as wireframes.
Spaces as floor plans.
Campaigns as conversations.
Systems as questions.
Where ideas are tested,
challenged, refined, and rebuilt.
This is the work before the spotlight.
Before the case study.
Before anyone’s watching.
This is where Indy design lives.
Alive with ideas, talent, and momentum.
